Apinya Thanacharoen
Bangkok, daughter of resident
My mother has been in the Attentive Living program for seven months. I noticed the difference almost immediately — she was sleeping better, eating properly, and seemed more at ease than she had been at home. The team writes to me every two weeks without me having to ask, and they call if anything changes. That consistency has been a real relief.

Singapore, son of resident
We moved my father from Singapore to helvorens's Complete Nursing program after a long search. Being overseas, the English communication was something we simply needed — not a nice-to-have. Every update comes in writing, clearly explained, and the liaison we work with remembers our conversations. It feels like a proper relationship, not a service transaction.

Sunisa Phanichkul
Bangkok, granddaughter of resident
My grandmother has always been particular about her food, and I was genuinely worried about a care facility getting that right. At helvorens she has traditional Thai dishes most days and genuinely looks forward to meals. The calligraphy workshop is something she mentions every time we visit. She seems settled and that is not a word I use lightly.

Maria Rodrigues
Portugal, daughter of resident
My father retired to Bangkok many years ago and when his health started to change, finding the right place from Europe was stressful. helvorens made the process straightforward — the assessment was thorough, the transition was handled carefully, and I have never felt like I need to chase information. I simply receive it.

Wanchai Srisakunwattana
Chiang Mai, son of resident
We visited several care homes in Bangkok before choosing helvorens. What stood out was how the staff spoke to my father during the tour — not about him, but to him. Small difference, large impression. He has been in the Gentle Living program for four months and seems more like himself than he did when he was alone.

India, daughter of resident
My mother's cognitive health has declined over the past two years, and finding a place that takes that seriously — not just medically, but in how they speak and interact with her — was important to us. The nursing team at helvorens is patient in a way that is hard to describe briefly. I am grateful every day.

Stories of Care
Journeys that stayed with us
Each care situation is different. These accounts reflect some of the experiences that shaped how we work today.
The Situation
An 81-year-old retired teacher moved in from a family home after two falls. Her family was concerned but reluctant about full-time care. She was largely self-reliant but shaken in her confidence.
How We Approached It
She began with Gentle Living, giving her independence in familiar daily rhythms. We introduced light physiotherapy to rebuild her confidence on stairs and uneven surfaces, and connected her with the calligraphy group, which matched her love of writing.
What Changed
Within three months, her daughter noted that she seemed more engaged than she had been in years. She now leads the calligraphy sessions on Thursdays. Her family described it as watching someone come back to themselves.
The Situation
A 76-year-old British expatriate arrived with early-stage dementia and hypertension. His adult children were based in London and Sydney, managing his care from a distance and relying on telephone updates from various providers.
How We Approached It
He moved into Complete Nursing Care. A dedicated liaison was assigned to coordinate communication across time zones. We established a fortnightly written report and a monthly video call with the family, while his care team focused on cognitive engagement and physical stability.
What Changed
His children said the transition from managing fragmented information to receiving clear, structured updates changed their experience entirely. He remains stable, enjoys morning garden walks, and has formed a friendship with another resident over shared British newspaper reading.
The Situation
A Thai couple — both in their mid-eighties — wished to live together but had different care needs. One was largely independent while the other required daily nursing assistance after a stroke.
How We Approached It
We arranged adjacent rooms — one on the Gentle Living tier and one on Complete Nursing Care — so they could share meals, time in the courtyard, and daily visits while each receiving the level of support they needed.
What Changed
Their family told us that keeping them together was the single most important outcome. Both have settled well. The couple have tea together each afternoon in the courtyard — something their children described as the arrangement they had hoped for but did not know was possible.
